CBSE-affiliated foreign schools delivered strong results in 2025, with 98.57% in Class 10 and 95.01% in Class 12. These institutions continue to set a high academic benchmark internationally.

With over 3 lakh students, Delhi’s overall Class 12 pass rate stood at an impressive 95.18%, with Delhi West (95.37%) outperforming Delhi East (95.06%). The region maintained its consistent academic standing.

Delhi’s combined East and West zones recorded a solid 95.14% pass percentage in Class 10. Delhi West had a slightly better outcome (95.24%) than East (95.07%), reflecting balanced regional performance.

In 2025, Class 10 exams were held across 26,675 schools and 7,837 centres, while Class 12 involved 19,299 schools and 7,330 centres—an increase over 2024, reflecting CBSE’s expanding infrastructure and reach.

Among all regions, Vijaywada led Class 12 results with a pass percentage of 99.60%, followed closely by Trivandrum and Chennai. Southern regions proved to be the strongest in terms of overall performance.

Trivandrum and Vijaywada regions jointly topped the Class 10 results with an exceptional 99.79% pass percentage. Southern regions maintained their consistent academic dominance yet again.

In Class 10, 1,99,944 students scored over 90%, while in Class 12, 1,11,544 students did the same. Among these, 45,516 (Class 10) and 24,867 (Class 12) even crossed the 95% mark, showing a strong cohort of top performers.

Girls continued their academic edge in Class 10 as well, posting a pass percentage of 95.00%, compared to boys at 92.63%. Transgender candidates matched girls with 95%, maintaining parity and inclusiveness in performance.

Girls secured a pass percentage of 91.64% in Class 12, significantly higher than boys at 85.70%. Transgender candidates achieved a perfect 100% pass rate. This consistent trend reflects stronger academic outcomes among female students for yet another year.

Independent schools recorded a pass percentage of 87.94% in the 2025 CBSE Class 12 exams. While slightly below the national average of 88.39%, the figure reflects stable performance. However, central government schools outperformed them by a notable margin.

A total of 5,712 Children With Special Needs (CWSN) registered for the CBSE Class 12 exams in 2025, with 5,280 passing. This translates to a success rate of over 93%, showcasing the impact of inclusive education policies and dedicated academic support.

CTSA (Central Tibetan Schools Administration) institutions achieved a 98.96% pass rate, narrowly missing a perfect score. Their high performance places them just behind JNV and KV schools, reinforcing their reputation for delivering quality education under specialised frameworks.

Pune recorded a commendable 90.93% pass percentage, placing it among the top-performing regions this year. Its continued academic success is a reflection of strong local educational frameworks and effective school management practices.

Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) posted a near-perfect 99.05% pass rate in 2025. Known for consistent academic success, KVs continue to provide high-quality education to a wide range of students across the country, maintaining their position among the top institutions.

With a pass rate of only 79.53%, Prayagraj ranked lowest among all regions in the 2025 CBSE Class 12 exams. The data calls attention to the need for regional support and interventions to help students achieve more competitive academic outcomes.

Transgender students achieved a 100% pass rate in 2025, a remarkable improvement from 50% the previous year. Though the number of candidates may be small, the result is a significant step towards greater inclusivity and academic opportunity for all students.

Guwahati (83.62%) and Bhubaneswar (83.64%) reported similar performance levels in the 2025 CBSE Class 12 exams. While just below the national average, the close scores suggest consistent academic standards in eastern regions with scope for targeted progress.

Government-aided schools recorded a strong 91.57% pass rate, outpacing both fully government and independent institutions. Their success points to a growing balance in educational quality across different types of institutions and improved outcomes from public-private collaboration.

With a pass rate of 99.32%, Trivandrum retained its position as one of the top-performing CBSE regions in 2025. The region’s results show continued educational excellence in the southern part of the country.

Girls secured a 95.00% pass percentage, compared to 92.63% by boys in the CBSE Class 10 exams. The gender gap of 2.37% continues to reflect a positive trend towards female academic achievement, mirrored across many regions in India.

Pune and Ajmer posted 96.54% and 95.44% pass percentages, respectively, making them two of the highest-performing regions in the CBSE Class 10 results this year. Their continued academic performance reflects the region-specific efforts to uplift education quality.

The Delhi region recorded a healthy 95.14% pass rate, with Delhi West performing slightly better at 95.24% and Delhi East at 95.07%. This balanced performance highlights the strength of CBSE-affiliated schools in the capital.

A staggering 23,71,939 students appeared in the CBSE Class 10 exams this year, showing the vast scale of participation. Out of them, 22,21,636 passed, leading to a national pass percentage of 93.66%, slightly higher than 2024’s 93.60%.

This year, a total of 26,675 schools participated in the CBSE Class 10 board exams, up from 25,724 in 2024. The number of exam centres also increased to 7,837, ensuring wider reach and accessibility for over 23 lakh students across the country.

Patna region achieved a 91.90% pass percentage in the CBSE Class 10 exams 2025, reflecting a marked improvement over previous cycles. With a growing number of successful candidates, the region moves closer to the national average of 93.66%.

Noida region recorded a pass rate of 89.41%, falling short of the national average. Regions like Patna (91.90%) and Dehradun (91.60%) outperformed it, while Guwahati remained the lowest at 84.14%. The variation underscores the need for regional academic focus.

This year, 1,41,353 students have been placed in the Compartment category, comprising 5.96% of the total examinees. The figure represents a slight increase from 2024’s 5.91%, suggesting a need for continued academic support mechanisms for underperforming students.

The Bhopal (92.71%) and Bhubaneswar (92.64%) regions posted strong performances in the 2025 Class 10 exams. Both regions remained above the national average of 93.66%, contributing to the overall success trend seen across most zones.

Children With Special Needs (CWSN) demonstrated outstanding performance with a 96.02% pass rate in the CBSE Class 10 exams. Out of 9,160 who appeared, 8,795 passed. Notably, 411 CWSN candidates scored above 90%, and 66 exceeded 95%, marking a significant academic milestone.

A total of 45,516 students, representing 1.92% of all candidates, scored above 95% in the CBSE Class 10 exams 2025. Additionally, 199,944 students (8.43%) scored over 90%, showcasing a large group of high achievers across India’s student base.

In the 2025 results, independent (private) schools achieved a 94.17% pass rate, placing them ahead of government and aided institutions. JNVs (99.49%) and KVs (99.45%) remained the top-performing school systems. Government schools, in contrast, recorded 89.26%, while aided institutions trailed at 83.94%.

Ajmer region delivered a commendable result, achieving a 95.44% pass percentage in the CBSE Class 10 exams 2025. The region remains among the better-performing areas, surpassing major centres like Delhi and Pune, and reflecting a strong academic push across Rajasthan.

Bengaluru maintained its top-tier academic standing with a 98.90% pass percentage in the Class 10 CBSE exams 2025. The region continues to feature prominently among the highest-scoring zones. Trivandrum and Vijaywada tied for the top spot at 99.79%, while Chennai was also strong with 98.71%.

The overall pass percentage for the CBSE Class 10 examinations in 2025 stood at 93.66%, showing a marginal increase from 93.60% in 2024. Out of 23,71,939 students who appeared, 22,21,636 passed. This reflects continued academic stability, even as participation numbers and exam centres expanded across the country.
