Maha Navami is one of the most significant day as it is the ninth and final day of Navratri. This day is dedicated to Maa Siddhidatri and falls on Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwina i.e., on October 11, 2024.

Maha Navami 2024: Significance
Navratri has almost come to an end as we are going to celebrate the ninth day of Navratri and this day is dedicated to Goddess Siddhidatri. It is believed that on the ninth day of Navratri, Maa appeared in the form of Siddhidatri in front of all the Deities and Gods. On the ninth day of Navratri, Maa Siddhidatri gave boon to all the deities that whenever they will be in trouble, Goddess will always come to rescue them. Mostly Tantriks and sadhaks worship Maa Siddhidatri to attain siddhis and divine powers. Those, who worship Maa Siddhidatri with full devotion, Maa always bestow them with all the desired wishes.

Saraswati Puja
On this sacred day, people also worship Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom and education, who is also known as the goddess of learning. People worship the Goddess along and present their books and religious scriptures and seek blessings. This day is also famous as Vidhyarambh Day, small children go to their school for the first time.

Ayudha Puja
In south India, Ayudh Puja is also famous on Maha Navami day. On this auspicious day, devotees perform Astra and Shastra puja.
Kanya Puja
In North and East India, Kanya Pujan is performed. Nine young small girls are worshipped as nine forms of Goddess Durga. They are offered bhog prasad of Halwa, Chana and Poori and present different gifts.
Hawan
Many people perform hawan on this day after reciting Durga Saptashati and kanya pujan. Hawan is performed to please Goddess Durga and seek blessings.
Durga Puja
The third and last day of Durga Puja celebrations in West Bengal is dedicated to celebrating Maha Navami. Maha Navami is marked by special observances known as "shodashopachar puja" and a rite known as "Mahasnan."
