With the Japanese pitching star Roki Sasaki being listed on the 15-day injured list, the Los Angeles Dodgers are undoubtedly plagued with consecutive injuries during the 2025 MLB season. Almost a few weeks back, Dodgers’ pitcher Tyler Glasnow made headlines after experiencing inflammation in his right shoulder. Recently, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave an important update on Sasaki’s health condition during a post-game interview.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts shares a major update on Roki Sasaki’s injury
The Dodgers witnessed another setback after RHP Roki Sasaki was shifted to the injured list for 15 days. This came as a huge shock for the popular MLB team at the end of April 2025. Dodgers’ starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow was listed on the injured list after experiencing inflammation in his right shoulder. During a postgame interview, Dave Roberts addressed the media about Sasaki’s health condition. He said,
"What we gather is he's felt some discomfort for the last few weeks, but given where we're at as a pitching staff he wanted to continue to go and persevere and fight through everything until he felt that his performance was going to be compromised. That's when he let us know where he was at physically."Roberts even indicated the indefinite timeline with respect to Roki Sasaki’s shoulder injury. He said,
"I don't think that any expectation is fair to him. We're very grateful that with the scans that we took that it is similar to what he's already been through before, so something familiar to him," Roberts said. "We just feel that with some rest, getting the strength back, getting back to his normal delivery that, he's going to be just fine."Reportedly, Sasaki landed on the injured list for the next 15 days during the clash between the Dodgers and Oakland Athletics. This is not the first time he has experienced something like this, as the pitching star was stuffed with shoulder impingement back in 2024 in Japan. The Los Angeles Dodgers were dominated by the Athletics with an overall score of 11-1.
