CHENNAI:
Mangaluru Central–Thiruvananthapuram Central
Vande Bharat Express train will be permanently augmented to a 16-coach configuration starting May 22 to meet the rising passenger demand and clear extra rush.
Train No 20631/20632 will be strengthened by adding one executive class coach and seven chair car coaches at both ends.
After augmentation, the train will have 14 chair car coaches and two executive class coaches, doubling its carrying capacity from the current eight-coach setup.
The move comes as part of Indian Railways’ broader plan to upgrade Vande Bharat services on high-demand routes by introducing longer rakes.
